Emergency Medicine Physician

As an emergency physician and Officer on the U.S. Army Reserve Health Care Team, you’ll practice in your community and serve when needed. Your colleagues will be at the top of their fields. Requirements include:

 – Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates

 – Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico

 – Eligibility for board certification

 – Completion of at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship

 – Completion of a training program in emergency medicine

 – Between 21 and 42 years of age (health care professionals ages 43 to 60 are now eligible for a two-year service contract under the OAPP program)    

 – Permanent U.S. residency

The State Medical Board of Ohio is a state agency extablished by the legistlature to protect the public health, safety and welfare by regulating the practice of medicine within the state of Ohio. The Board is responsible for licensing physicians and surgeons, osteopathic physicians and surgeons, podiatric physicians and surgeons, physician assistants, anesthesiologist assistants, massage therapists, cosmetic therapists, mechanotherapists, naprapaths, and acupuncturists. In addition to granting licensure to these professionals, the Ohio Medical Board seeks to ensure the safe and effective provision of medical care to the citizens of Ohio by monitoring and regulating the professional conduct of its licensees and enforcing the provisions adopted by the Board regarding misconduct.
