About Hospitalist Physician Assistant Jobs
Hospital based Physician Assistants are able to lighten the load of Hospitalists. Out of the 70,000 practicing PAs only a small fraction functions as “Hospitalist PAs”. They do much of the same work as hospitalists but since Physician Assistants are governed by state medical boards the scope of practice can vary a great deal.
PAs are required to pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination, given by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and open only to graduates of accredited PA education programs.(Source: US Department of Labor)
