Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner jobs are regulated by the Arkansas Medical Board. The mission of the Arkansas State Medical Board is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the people of the State of Arkansas with the goal that all citizens be provided with the highest quality health care. In order to meet this goal, the Board is empowered to license and regulate the practice of medicine, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, and physician assistants in the state of Arkansas.
Position Summary:
This Pediatric Nurse Specialist functions in the roles of expert clinician, educator, consultant, researcher and change agent/leader and provides expertise in the care of Pediatric patients from birth through adolescence. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the orientation of new staff, on-going education for existing staff and the development and implementation of the department's PI Plan. The Pediatric Nurse Specialist assists in achieving patient satisfaction, quality patient care, national patient safety, regulatory agency, and budgetary goals. Additionally, the Pediatric Nurse Specialist is responsible for promoting evidenced based practice through development and implementation of Pediatric policies, procedures, and practices. The Pediatric Nurse Specialist provides clinical support for the department in order to improve patient care and outcomes.
This position has exposure to body fluids, radiation and communicable disease. The majority of work time is spent sitting/standing and/or walking of short distances, with frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of up to 100 lbs., as well as occasional carrying of up to 25 lbs. A culturally and linguistically diverse patient population is served including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults.
Position Requirements:
This position requires a good working knowledge of clinical nursing practices as usually demonstrated by a minimum of three years clinical experience. This position must possess the ability to communicate effectively, critically analyze, and facilitate, conduct and disseminate nursing research. Demonstrated teaching & leadership ability, and the ability to develop, deliver and evaluate training information are required. This position also requires certification in NRP*. STABLE Instructor and NRP Instructor certification is preferred (or willing to obtain within one year of hire). Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and licensed to work in the state of Arkansas or licensed in a state that has enacted the RN/LPN NLC. BSN with Master's degree in a related field required. A national certification in the specialty-area, or actively pursuing a national certification, is strongly encouraged. * within 1 (one) year of DOH.
