About Pennsylvania Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner Jobs
Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner jobs are regulated by the Pennsylvania Medical Board. The Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine regulates the practice of medicine through the licensure, registration and certification of members of the medical profession in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Board regulates medical doctors; physician assistants; radiology technicians; respiratory care practitioners; nurse-midwives; acupuncturists; and athletic trainers practicing in the state of Pennsylvania. The Board also has the authority to take disciplinary or corrective action against the individuals it regulates.
Pocono Medical Center is a 231-bed community hospital that has been transitioning since 2004 into a regional medical center. The hospital recently completed a $54 million expansion project necessitated by phenomenal growth in Monroe County the second-fastest growing county in Pennsylvania. The expansion includes a new four-story wing 100,000 square feet of additional space which houses a 41-bed Emergency Department, 10 state-of-the-art surgical suites, a 24-bed Ambulatory Surgery Center, and an improved Diagnostic Imaging facility. The centerpiece of the facility is the new ESSA Heart and Vascular Institute.
We are also a Level III Trauma Center, and will be applying for our Level II designation in the near future. The hospitals expansion will continue over the next several years with a main focus in Surgery, Women’s and Children’s Services, Primary Care, Oncology, Musculoskeletal Services, and Cardiac Wellness.
