ABOUT THE AREA
A Family Medicine Residency Program at the hospital allows for residents to rotate through the department and teaching is welcome, if desired.
The hospital is a modern 80-bed, acute care facility offering all phases of surgery care as well as comprehensive ancillary services, including emergency medicine, obstetrics, inpatient psychiatry, a cardiovascular laboratory, outpatient surgery, inpatient surgery, and intensive care. The BirthPlace staff deliver more than 350 babies a year. The hospital also has a foot-and-ankle clinic, sleep lab, balance center, diabetes center, and speech department. The Hospital’s very fresh remodeled areas include the admitting area, emergency and outpatient surgery departments. The emergency department had over 18,000 visits last year. In addition, a new 6 bed ICU opened in January 2014. For the third year in a row, the hospital was among the top five percent in the nation, recognized as one of the Healthgrades 2013 Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ Recipients.
The new physician will join five hospitalists and become one of two Nocturnists. The scheduled shifts are seven days on and seven off. The physician’s shifts are scheduled 6:00 pm through 6:00 am. The Hospitalist will handle after hour admits and unassigned patients, as well as field questions. After 10:00 pm the pace slows considerably. The six-bed open ICU, which was constructed in January, 2014 is supported by extensive specialty services. Sorian, the latest in technology is used for computerized ordering. Procedures are not required. A Family Medicine Residency Program at KSB allows for residents to rotate through the department and teaching is welcome, if desired.
The new Hospitalist will be employed and offered an attractive salary plus comprehensive benefit package. The benefit package includes one week of paid vacation, signing bonus and optional loan repayment.
