Located a few blocks from the Chattahoochee River in western Georgia, Midtown Medical Center provides acute care services across 13 Georgia counties as a Level 2 trauma center. Midtown Medical Center has been home to the Family Medicine Residency Program since 1972. This nationally recognized program, which was the first of its kind in Georgia and one of the first in the Southeast, has graduated more than 300 family physicians.


Columbus was developed along the Chattahoochee River. Columbus is the second largest city in Georgia with a population of over 200,000. It is one of Georgia's three Fall Line Cities, along with Augusta and Macon, with a varied landscape of rolling hills on the north side and flat plains on the south.
